Bill and Teri on Rick Steves' Loire to the South of France Tour
Place de la Republique
Arles Town Square and City Hall.
Outdoor café with lots of shade.
A vaulted gallery off the Cloisters contains an array of 17th Century tapestries illustrating scenes from the First Crusade. The tapestry shown here is entitled "Combat de Tancrede et d'Argent."
Outdoor café with a unique setting.
We particularly enjoyed visiting the Church of St. Trophime and the adjacent Cloisters. Because the Cloisters are undergoing renovation and restoration, conditions inside were a bit chaotic. We were able to reach the upper level of the Cloisters from which this photo was taken.
